Since the filming is done, do you think the movie will be an accurate representation?
It will be amazing!
It's questionable. We'll just have to see in December.
There is no way.

New Moon Covers

Please tell me just one little theory

These are the only ones I've been able to find, which were on Stephenie Meyer's website and Amazon. If you have such luck, please email me and send me the image so that I may be able to put it up here. And also, these write-ups are only my opinion of the various covers, you are free to have your own.

If you would like a larger view of each cover, just click on the thumbnail of them.

United States of America

Ah! The New Moon cover! It is a tulip which stands for "undying love." And with the content of the book itself, "undying love" is definitely a theme that is present. This cover is so gorgeous. If I hadn't already picked up Twilight, I would have definitely picked up New Moon with a cover like this! *swoon*

Austria

Like the Austrian edition of Twilight, it features the same artwork as the US edition but changes the font for the title. Interestingly, the Austrian edition does not have the so optional idea that is on the German cover, but instead elect to go with Biss zur Mittagsstunde, meaning "Bite to noontime" literally.

Czech Republic

This cover is really different. Not my favorite, though. It is interesting that there is a wolf for the werewolves in the story, which is really different. I think I like the different-ness about it, but I don't like the font they put the title in. A little too gothic/horror for me.

Finland

Like Twilight in Finnish, it is the same art, but the colors have been altered some. I do like the pops of purple that are in it and how the font is. I actually think I like this cover better than the Finnish version of Twilight. Thank you Saija for sending me this!

France

The same cover art as the US cover, just as with the French version of Twilight. It is called "Tenation", which means "Temptation" in English. It has a different font and a different texture in the background, which is kind of cool.

Germany

I absolutely love the German covers (especially the one for Midnight Sun!!). This cover is gorgeous. The whole feel of it being a dark time and the whole atmosphere created pairs so well with the book. Again, the title has the optional Biss zur Mittagsstunde or Bis zur Mittagsstunde, which respectfully mean "Bite to noontime" or "Until noontime" literally.

Japan

The book was separated into 3 different parts in Japan, a different approach, again. Each part has its own different title, but all go under Twilight (still). The artwork captures in a more anime-style what I imagined Bella and Edward looking like, but definately are close to what I think of them looking like. Again, there are more illustrations inside, but THEY ARE NOT MANGA. There are illustrations done sporadically throughout, not a storyline within panels. The different titles are "The Fang Whispers Sweetly", "Month of the Wolf", and "The Angel of Sighing (???)" respectfully.

Spain

Same pretty much as the US's cover except for the title. The thing I like about the Spanish covers is that it adds this interesting font to "nueva" (means new in Spanish and "luna" means moon). It really adds something nice and makes it have a more horror-ish feel while the US's is a bit more sleek looking. Eh, I think both are interesting and have their place. It's pretty cool since most blood fonts look too fake.

Sweden

It uses the exact same cover art as the US edition. But what is interesting is the title which means "When I hear your voice" in Swedish. Interesting idea for the book in which we see so little of Edward and Bella only has her memories to go off of. Thanks Linnéa for sending the covers to me!

Thailand

I FREAKING LOVE THE THAI COVERS! I mean, I really thought the Twilight cover was cool, but then I find this one! The artist really is amazing who has done these. The colors are something I just can't help but adore in both. This one features great symbolism with the stars and actual new moon image in the center. Really, I love the cover.

The Netherlands

Oh, the Netherlands covers are so subtly awesome. Like the Twilight cover, it uses pretty much the exact same artwork from the US edition, but puts a little twist on it. In this case, the petal that is falling has been altered to a bloody heart or possibly a drop of blood in the shape of a heart. Either way, the heart theme continues - I love it!

United Kingdom

This is still in the same weird style as the UK Twilight version, but I don't know if it is quite as bad. I really really really hate Bella in it. Her shoulders still freak me out. It still looks too futuristic and crazy, but I guess it isn't quite as bad.
