Breaking Dawn has FINALLY been released. You can pre-order it at

Amazon.com. Also, you can read the 1st chapter of the book in the Special Edition of
Eclipse that comes out today or read a portion of it on EW.com

- The whirlwind of 2008's releases begins in 2 days with the release of
The Host. Production has wrapped now on the
Twilight movie and its release date is a bit further off (December 18), but it'll be here soon! But of course, the biggest release and hype will be for
Breaking Dawn, which will be released on August 2! In addition to this amazing year, Stephenie Meyer has just been named one of TIME Magazine's
100 Most Influential People of 2008.

- More official news - Robert Pattinson will play as Edward Cullen in the
Twilight movie. YAY!! I really really like Robert as Edward and happen to think he is dead sexy. Jeremy Dufour was never going to happen, but if you didn't notice, Robert was my second and I thought that he as well would never happen. You can read more about the press release

- It is official - Kristen Stewart will star as Bella Swan in the
Twilight movie. AHHH!! Personally, I think she's just okay, but I know many have very strong opinions on both sides. I knew Nora Tschirner wouldn't happen - that would just be if I could have my ideal cast. Anyway, you can read more about the press release

- Of course,
Eclipse has now been released and thousands have already gotten their copies and torn through them (like me!). Now we shall see if it is #1 on the Bestseller list. Stephenie Meyer was on Good Morning, America giving an interview and there have been numerous news articles around the country on her works. In some un-related to the
Twilight saga news, her next book out will be
The Host, which is due out May 1, 2008.
Breaking Dawn (as it is still tenatively titled) is still due out in Fall 2008 as far as I know. Mrs. Meyer has also said that it will be the last in the series as she sees at this point, but she could possibly write more books dealing with the series (please
Midnight Sun!).

- Because of the hiatus, I have lots of news (but most have probably already seen most of it)! The first chapter of
Eclipse is now on the Internet
here. Mrs. Meyer has also decided to put up quotes everyday on her
news page from
Eclipse from the 1st of July until the 6th of August.
Eclipse is supposed to be released the 7th of August, but a few lucky fans already got it due to some copies being shipped early accidentally. Please don't spoil it for all of the other fans if you were one of the lucky few! Mrs. Meyer will also be giving an interview on Good Morning America on the 7th of August.
And of course, everyone's favorite buzz - MOVIE NEWS. Mrs. Meyer finally updated her
movie page to reflect the now-done deal with MTV Film and the new deal with
Summit Entertainment, who has optioned it for 15 months. They have quite a list of movies behind them, which you can read
here. Mrs. Meyer also semi-updated her actor choices and somewhat encouraged for all of her fans to keep on suggesting their favorites.

- Movie news! According to
this thread on the Twilight Lexicon forums, the movie that MTV was producing has been cancelled. The script was so horrible that Stephenie Meyer just said no. It had a "Shakira"-like Bella who was athletic and graceful, the Cullens didn't exist, Edward was totally out of character, and Bella tries to kill Laurent (not James) with a gun. No matter how much fans want a movie, that just is not
Twilight. There is hope though, as a small company that has approached her about doing it and they want to keep the main aspects of the book.

- Alright, I decided to restart this. Right now, the release date on
Amazon and
Barnes & Noble for
Eclipse is 7th August, 2007. The
cover has of course been released along with the summary. The first chapter can be found in the Special Edition of
New Moon, which is in stores now. Of course, there are the Eclipse Proms (and satellite proms!) tomorrow, where the first chapter of
Eclipse will be read as well. Oh, and for fans of the Japanese version of the book,
Amazon Japan has the release date as 4th October, 2007.

- Just to catch everyone up on the information I know,
Eclipse should be on bookselves in August/September of this year, and there will be a fourth book called
Breaking Dawn that should be released in the fall of 2008. This summer, Mrs. Meyer's site has said that the cover and first chapter for
Eclipse shall be released. There will be
NO ARCs for
Eclipse.

- Yes, dearies, there is a spoiler loose on the internet about
New Moon. And yes, there was an ARC (Advanced Reader's Copy) that was sold on Ebay for $145.52. So, why aren't I putting these links up here? Well, the spoilers...I am not too interested in them after hearing they did no justice for the book and I'd just prefer not to read them when I have a site here that I need to keep semi-spoiler free. If you want to read the spoilers, go to Google and type in New Moon by Stephenie Meyer and some pages will show up, it being on an LJ. The entry is now protected though, so you might want to try somewhere else to find the information. That's about all I'll say on the matter. (1/5/06) What about the ARC that was sold?
